If you want to work with the planet’s cycles and rhythms, use this week to let go and release the past. Think about what you’re letting go. You might even like to write a list of the people or issues you’re consciously moving on from and then burn that list. This is a really powerful thing to do and very simple. All you need is a pen and paper for your list. You can scrunch that list up and burn it over your sink or outside.
There is a power in doing this as your written thoughts are transmuted into the ethers by the fire. That might sound fanciful but try it and you will see, it can be a very moving experience.
We are in the waning cycle of the Moon for most of this week, so it’s time to lay low. Ideally don’t start any new projects yet. It’s the time for our minds and spirits to lie fallow like a field between plantings, so to speak.
If you meditate, this is the time for it! With every out breath, let go a little more of the past. By releasing the past, we move into the present and it’s in the present that we can create our lives.
Note that next Sunday brings a New Moon eclipse. I will write more about it in next week’s column but it’s good to know it’s coming. As you release and let go of the past this week, you will make room for the new. The new is what you can work with at the time of the eclipse.
One of the best ways to let go is to forgive. Try reciting this ‘formula for forgiveness’, inspired by the work of Catherine Ponder: “I forgive everything, everyone, every experience, every memory of the past or present that needs forgiveness. I forgive positively everyone. I also forgive myself of past mistakes. The Universe is love, and I am forgiven and governed by love alone. Love is now adjusting my life. Realizing this, I abide in peace.”
