THE BIG NEWS OF THE MONTH… for all of us…
The big-astro news of the month is that the sex and drive planet Mars will be doing one of its rare retrogrades. What this means is that…
* Mars will stay on one part of your chart for longer than usual
* It may feel like you’re peddling hard and getting nowhere
* All in all everything happens for a reason so where you are not moving forwards as fast as you would like to, just say “Ommmm….”
What’s extra interesting here is that Mars will be reversing in the same part of the skies that Saturn is currently in.
It might help you to understand this if you understand the planetary archetypes and think of the planets as having almost a human character. So whereas Mars is really direct and brash and wants to get ahead, Saturn is the leaden old man or woman who had done the hard yards and feels everyone else should to, before they’re allowed to claim anything resembling success.
Think of Lauren Bacall who snapped at a reporter who called Nicole Kidman a legend… Bacall replied shirtily: “She’s not a legend. She’s a beginner. What is this ‘legend?’ She can’t be a legend at whatever age she is. She can’t be a legend – you have to be older.”
That’s pure Saturn! So with Saturn, there are obstacles. With Mars, there is usually the drive to get around these obstacles. Mars is all about determination and getting things done. But now Mars is retrograde. His power is dimmed somewhat, though it has to be said, there are two sides to this. Mars can’t race ahead right now but wherever he is in your chart, he is working harder on one issue than he otherwise might.

THE BIG VENUS DATES FOR THE MONTH AHEAD ARE:
April 5 – Venus moves into Aries. This is great news for Aries and Librans. Your love life is about to get better. For everyone else, it’s also good because Venus in Aries is direct and spontaneous and that can make love more exciting. April 12 – Venus meets Mars. These two are known as the lovers of the zodiac and when they meet, it augurs well for love. So tonight is v good for a date night. Or to go out and meet new people if you’re single. It also augurs well for any business meetings during the day.
April 18 – Venus connects with Saturn. Even the name Saturn strikes fear into peoples’ hearts however in this case at least, it’s a very good vibe being created. Promises about love or money made now should last and that alone is a win!
April 19 – and then she clashes with Pluto. If you’re feeling at all tortured or obsessive about love or money, b-r-e-a-t-h-e. This too shall pass!
April 22 – and then everything can go crazy! On this day, Venus connects to totally mad planet Uranus so anything can happen and probably will. Expect the best and you might get it (as long as you’re not expecting someone to totally transform their personality – that is slightly less likely!)
April 30 – Venus moves into Taurus – more on this next month but overall it’s especially good for Taureans, Scorpios, Virgos, Capricorns, Cancerians and Pisceans.
