Every year brings with it a new round of eclipses and of course, 2017, is no exception.

What is a bit different is that we only have four this year – sometimes we get up to seven, as we will have next in 2038.

Eclipses are like portals to another life. In one way, it’s a relief to see that there are only four this year. Less tumultuousness. On the other hand, it also feels to me like a slight let down.

Eclipses create periods of your life which can feel like your life is one of those survival challenge courses you see people doing on tv (and possibly, for some people, which you actually do in real life!)

They are when the Universe changes gears. That’s the best analogy I know of. One minute your life seems to be going along like Aaaaaaa and then all of a sudden, you’re in Bbbbbb drive. Sorry if those are weird mixed metaphors but eclipses are hard to put your finger on.

They are when we need to say “never mind the past, here’s the eclipse!” or “out with the old, here is the eclipse!”

How intense then are for you depends where in your chart they’re falling – if their hit a personal point or planet in your chart, you will feel them more intensely, of course.

I once had an eclipse on my Venus at the same as Saturn prepared to roll over my Venus and it was quite the heart-breaking, life-changing, career-altering experience. My whole life pretty much changed. I could say I altered my course. It wasn’t easy at the time but it was OH so for the best.

Another time – a few years later – I had an eclipse on my Ascendant and I went on holiday to Paris for a week, and ended up living there for two years plus!

When an eclipse hits your chart strongly, all bets are off!

This year the eclipses take place in Leo, Pisces, Aquarius.

So we can deduce that anyone who is either Leo, Aquarius or Pisces or has one of those signs rising (you can find out for free here) is in for some fun and games in 2017. Actually you can also through Virgos and Virgo Rising people as well, for reasons I won’t go into other than to say that Virgo is the opposite sign of Pisces so whatever impacts Pisces also often impacts Virgo to a similar degree.

So will these fun and games be good fun and games or not-so-good fun and games?

As always, it really depends on how you’re living your life. If you are hanging on to an outdated relationship which you know has run its course or you’re working in a job or industry which you can’t stand, the eclipse could loosen your grip and force you to let go of whatever you need to release.

Speaking from personal experience, that’s the less-good way to handle eclipse energy. No matter what your sign – because we are all affected by eclipses – use the weeks lead up to them, to work with the energies.

WHAT TO DO WITH THE FULL MOON ECLIPSE

Especially the Full Moon eclipses, it’s time to release and let go and forgive the past, no matter what your sign. It’s the time to let go in one part of your life or another. Make amends for anything you think you need to make amends for. Say sorry. Forgive and move on. Declutter yourself energetically by breathing out!

WHAT TO DO WITH THE NEW MOON ECLIPSE

At the time of the New Moon eclipses, again, no matter what your sign or your Rising sign, but especially if you’re Pisces, Virgo, Leo or Aquarius, it’s time to make a new start of some kind, to launch something, to begin again with someone or something, even if it’s just a new morning routine or something as big as a new dietary regime. . What you start at the time of the New Moon is super charged.

If all you do all year is begin at the New Moon and release at the Full Moon, it will be life-changing.

Even better, though, is to follow the passage of the New and Full Moons through your chart throughout the year. If you would like to do that, you might enjoy my New Moon Info Sheets + Manifesting Kits which tell you where the New Moon is taking place in your chart and how to use the energies to manifest your life.
