This week is all about that thing which is hard to release from your life. There is a Full Moon in the sign of Scorpio.

Four fun facts about the Scorpio Full Moon:

1. Scorpio is a Fixed Sign which means it doesn’t really like to let go at the best of times. But the Full Moon is release time, so needs must.

2. At the time of the Full Moon, the Sun is in the equally Fixed Sign of Taurus.

3. Just before the Full Moon, the Sun and Moon clash with Saturn.

4. Saturn is the least fluid planet. It doesn’t like to let go either.

So all in all we have a lot of energies which are all about holding on, versus the Full Moon which is all about letting go.

So what to do? Full Moons are always about a tug-of-war, thanks to the Sun and the Moon being on opposite sides of the zodiac at the time of the lunation.

So it’s a time to aim for a balance.

Think about (or better yet, write down) what you need to release. And then think about how to let it go. Imagine what you life would look like without this in it. If you’re worried about letting go, if fear is making you hold on, acknowledge that and make a plan. Focus on the solution or the replacement for whatever it is that you need to send back into the ethers.

A wonderful mantra for the Scorpio Full Moon is Aum Kran Krin Kron seh Bhaumaaye Namah. That’s Sanskrit and it’s pretty much pronounced as written. There is a strong case for chanting in Sanskrit as the sounds a sacred and will resonate in your being in ways you probably can’t even begin to imagine. Too complicated? Try these sounds: Om Durga Yay Namah.

Durga is a Goddess associated with Scorpio and chanting her name now will bring power of good! Ask Durga to help you release whatever no longer serves you. Or just chant “I release!”
